Nate Taylor (Riley Nottingham) hasn’t spoken a word to his brother, Ged (Johnny Carr), in over four years, ever since the fateful night when he was discovered in bed with his older sibling’s fiancé. But when their mother passes away from a sudden aneurysm, the brothers must set aside their differences in order to fulfil their mother’s dying wish: to have her ashes scattered at the old family home in the country town of Narrabri.

The 34th annual Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF) will see filmmakers descend on the red carpet for screenings and events from 14 – 24 November. The program celebrates queer music culture through the provocation: Formative Sound and Vision, and will feature 42 feature films, 18 Australian premieres, 18 Melbourne premieres, 19 documentaries, 11 short film packages and 90 short films held at ACMI, The Capitol, Palace Cinema Como and Cinema Nova.

Boffin has assembled many of the collaborators from his TV sit-com Metro Sexual, including lead actor Riley Nottingham (also a producer on the film) for this domestic drama that lets Nottingham stretch his acting chops as Nate Taylor opposite Johnny Carr (Wellmania, Five Bedrooms) as his gruff brother Ged.
